Step 1/ Lay down with your snake
Step 2/ wait until the snake gets compfy
Step 3/ Take or know your inside legs measurements

how do you do it once they have gone past 3 foot? lol

fold them in half

I found the easiest way of doing it is slowly moving a piece of string down the snakes back until you reach the tail then lay out the string and measure it.

i try an get them along side a tape measure or just guess when their led along the front of the viv

Last time I measured Fea (properly lol) I set him on the floor and when he stretched out to roam I held a fabric tape measure on the top of his head, gently with my thumb. Then measured down his body..works with Slinky too.
Slinky stays still while i'm measuring but Fea is nosey and insists on trying too see what i'm doing lmao but we get there in the end.

An easier way is to use this online tool. All you do is put something of a known length next to your snake and take a pic of them together and upload it. Something like a remote, phone etc.

When I posted this thread, and photograph of Kit lounging around with my snake it was never intended to be taken seriously we just thought it cute, especially as he spanned her entire inner leg. So he was 32" back then hehe cos its easy to take inside leg measurements. lol
