Hey guys

So my royal Felix has been a toad recently and not eaten since about late Jan, I have put this down to fasting. Had him out at the weekend for a check and a viv tidy, noticed he had gone blue.

Saw him on Sunday night start to rub his nose so thought he was going to shed.

Checked on him on Monday no shed, so thought he must still be getting ready, tried to feed him on Tuesday he left it so took that out.

Checked on him this AM took him out had a look, and heard a clicking sound pretty sure it came from him. His not holding his head or anything. He was moving around my hands and stuff. Just kept making a strange sound when he was breathing, not every time either just now and then.

He still has not shed, so where he has been rubbing his got bits on his nose. I noticed his viv was a little cooler than normal it was at 27 (some one left the window open in the living room!) So turned up his temps a little.

Oh when I put him back in his viv, he was moving about a fair bit, i left the door open a little and he stuck his head out to watch me, when I closed the viv again he was mooching about over in the cooler side.

There is no mucus around his nose or face.

Just not sure...bless him.

the clickinh is very likley to be from tight/loose skin around the nostrils due to the shed coming.
what temp is the hot end now?
have you been raising the humidity?

When I left this morning for work it was 29, will check with the BF as to what it was when he left, as he leaves after me.

Yes I moved his dish over to the hotter side of the tank to see if this helps. Should I mist? I tend not to as everyone always has had a good shed. I did this morning move the dish back over to the cooler side of the thank, in-case it had got to humid in there.

His nose is all flaky and stuff where he is shedding.

bump up the hot end a 1 or 2 degrees.
during the shed i leave the water bowl in the hot end an mist a couple of times a day.
leaving the bowl in the hot end for a week or so wont cause any problems with too much humidty.
putting a damp hide in also helps, a plastic box with spagnum moss of just a damp face cloth.
or just put a damp cloth ontop of the warm hide.
hope he sheds ok for you
