My adult female seems to only have one hook at the base of her tail? Is that normal?

I can't quite tell if it's just shorter than the other but it seems to be alittle too tender to touch for her.

Are we talking about the spurs either side the vent?

By a strange coincidence, my Surahi also has only one spur. I believe these can be damaged and fall off - like Lilith (is it Lilith?) Surahi came to me as an adult so I've no idea of her past history.

As for the tenderness, they can be a bit twitchy if you touch them in an erm, personal area, plus I understand she may have some injuries atm so hopefully any tenderness will be sorted by the vet.

Spurs aren't essential - if they lose one, bit like us breaking a fingernail.

Yea, that's what I meant I had forgotten the name haha. I also got her (yes, it is Lilith)as an adult so I'm unsure of what went on.

Thanks for the reply, I was abit worried about it causing her any discomfort.

my big lad derek only has one spur an is not a problem.
remember reading a while back that the spur is built up from layers of shed that remain on them an may grow back over time.
not sure how true the growing back is as not seem much come back on derek but hes only had a few sheds with me
