Okay, so Ralph's eyes went blue 2 days ago, he has a little patch of skin on his neck that has come away but nothing else. I'm thinking of putting him in a damp pillowcase for half an hour as this seems to have worked for other members.. Does the pillowcase have to be luc warm damp or just cold water? Any other suggestions would also be appreciated :) |

The water should be about 31c and then the pillowcase should be put in a RUB on a heatmat so he doesn't get too cold. To be fair this early on I wouldn't do anything just give him another day to sort it out himself, maybe add a damp-hide to his home. |

If his eyes only went blue 2 (now 3) days ago thats not enough time for that process to be over and for the shed to then happen, you sure its not just his skin beginning to clear BEFORE he sheds his skin?
Or is any part of him still 'blue'. |

No, a good handful of skin has came off again only on his neck area, he's been out alot rummaging round a warm damp flannel I put in his viv, hopefully this will up the humidity and also help free up his skin! If he's still having trouble in a few days I'll try the pillowcase idea :) |

Just tried to bathe Ralph because there's still alot of she'd left on him, I put him in a rub with 30 degree Celsius water in it just enough to cover his body.. He basically constantly tried to get out and looked like he hated it so we held him and poured so of the water down him and put him back into his viv, do you think this will help? Should we try again if it still doesn't come off? First snake I've had that has shed so a complete beginner! |

Thanks, I'll try the pillowcase next time it sounds easier than the bath :) |

I'm not going against any other suggestions but when my boyfriend's snake had a bad shed, before we tried thee pillowcase method or giving thee snake a bath, we put some moss in thee snake's hide in thee hot end. Next day, any awkward bits of skin came right off... (:
Just thought I would share what method we used because if you're anything like me, I worry at thee slightest bit of skin that is left on my snake after a shed. So thee more suggestions, thee better. LOL. |

Yes we did that aswell! It eased it up a bit but not enough for it to come off :( the bath did the trick for me but thanks for the suggestion! :) |
