Hi all, I'm new to owning snakes but have always been fascinated by them and when a old friend of mine introduced me to his collection on royals I was hooked, a few days ago I got my first royal CB12 normal not sure of the sex though but called cleo anyway, been watching this forum for a while and look forward to getting some info. First off I have a heat mat and a ceramic bulb but when I use just the heat mat cell lies on the rock but with just the bulb they r always in the hide so I'm totally confused which to use? Any ideas will be appreciated. |

Hi and welcome, congrats on your new snake as well
Regards heating, I'm more a fan of bulbs over mats/pads. I've always had better luck with getting temps right with bulbs, I guess it's what you're used to. The main thing is as long as you have the temps correct, your snake will know where he/she wants to be instinctively |
