Every supplier that I call says not to install a fogger, but surely if a snake requires high humidity as in over 80% then a fogger is the only sure way to achieve that level?

I'd use with a controller unit and a fan to keep the viv within 10% of desired humidity.

Yeah I know hand misting has the same effect, but that isn't stable.

Thanks

For the cost of foggers, combined with the associated safety issues I wouldn't bother. I made my own from a humidifier I got from maplin and a length of 40mm plastic pipe.

Total cost, £35

It holds a full 5 litres and is outside the viv so no issue with the animal coming into contact with the unit. Set on a timer it holds a steady 65-75% all day long

If you put a fogger in a vivarium made of wood you can kiss it goodbye in about 3-4 months (estimated), I spray Harley's viv every 2-3 days and it keeps humidity at about 80%, any more than that it would need a drain in the bottom.

Thanks for replying Fezza, that would work..but Rob has put me off the idea lol

Ra's viv will cost me the guts of £300 so ain't replacing that for rotten wood. Of course, he's in a faun atm and too many ventilation gaps, which was fine for the Boa and Royal..but obviously not him. Next shedding he'll be the two footer :)
Thanks Rob
