The snake doesn't look right to me at all.
Necrosis can arise from persistently stuck shed, especially with eyecaps and tailtip.
If the zoo staff wouldn't speak to you, I'd try contacting the RSPCA. I'm not too confident of them but recently they did a very good job re a case of cruelty to a corn snake posted on this forum, and can't do any harm ringing or emailing them -

Good luck. |

If you aren't happy Brendon, i'd phone the zoo and speak to somebody with more authority than that keeper. Then if still not satisfied a call to the RSPCA would work.
lol clashed with Bats, but same remedy |

I would just call the zoo try and speak with the head of reptiles if they have one. in my experience the RSPCA are a complete waste of space they have never ever helped me or any animal I have tried to help, just get fobed off ! |

Yup, I haven't had good experiences with them AT ALL - have heard them called the 'reluctant' society by people working in cats' rescue ...oh boy 10 years ago shouted at them while doing my own cats' rescue and I won't talk to people unless necessary...long story lol.
But they did act in this case -

Yeah im sure they do some good now and then, they recently knocked on my door asking for a monthly donation they started by asking if I liked animals when I declined to sign up to a monthly donation the guy had the cheek to say that I obviously dont care for animals that much I could not belive what I heard.

It cant hurt to ring them up ask to speak to someone in authority, I dont think the RSPCA would go near a zoo. The snake does look like its retained eyecaps and from the skins colouration I'd say its not the only bit retained. Maybe you saying something is enough for the keeper to raise the humidity and hopefully that will all shed off as a result. |
