As some of you may have seen, both my royals have been in shed this week, smee presented me with a nice full shed, over to you Floyd. Well today Floyd finished shedding and just left me about half a centimetre of tail tip, so out he came and I dipped his tail in a mug of slightly warm water and massaged it off with two fingers. His behaviour was impeccable. Every now and then he'd come round to see what I was doing to him lol, he even let me stroke his head! Which was a long term aim of mine :). Hell now be rewarded with a nice warm rat.

Aww clever little guy - my ghost corn Spooky usually retains her tailtip and we go through the same ritual, but for a first time tailtip I reckon he did very well indeed.

Thanks janie. It sure is :). It may sound daft but it seemed whenever he came over it was like he new I was helping him, and it's filled me with even more confidence on handling him. Not that I wasnt anyway, just seeing him tolerating me tugging on his tail has made my day! I think we've helped each other :)

Thanks bats. First time ive had to do it. Couldn't have gone better :). You must be an utter pro at it now then, not like me, took me a while. Think I was just concerned in case I damaged any of his scales.
