I've seen it all now!
http://photoblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/23/10830224-snail-slime-at-the-forefront-of-beauty?lite
Apparently snail slime is sweeping the world as the latest beauty treatment.
Imagine being a snail, put to work dispensing slime or even having to crawl over the face of some woman in desperate search of 'beauty'????
Bleeaaghh!
Despite no snails apparently having been harmed in the proceedings (snail slime is coaxed from the live snail) I do feel sorry for the snails! |

it like that fad of fish pedicures. a big burm or boa round your neck is great for a neck rub |

Oh fish pedicure - that is sick! First of all the shared human and tank bacteria, then how specialised is the care of the fish and how much nourishment do they gain, nibbling dead human skin?
Yeah, snake neck massage is cool - even a royal gives good neck massage, very soothing lol. |

Nature is amazing, I love watching footage of the shoals of fish that follow pods of whales so they can feed off the dead skin, its all they survive on..scavaging lol So I guess the same is true for human feet, I have watched folk with their feet in a tub of fish lol not sure i'd fancy that myself :) |

Yeah - possibly a grain of truth but to me it smacks of the gimmick factor. Unless that snail who climbed on your hairbrush, Janey, was trying to give you a beauty tip lol, with free slime who needs Bodyshop?
And ...well, it had to happen didn't it?

But is that a venomous snake in the pic???? |

I dont know about gimmicks but if any fish decided to pick the dead skin off my feet they would sink to the bottom of the ocean and never be seen again. |

The poor little devils are wild caught ...so never mind the claims of 'free from bacteria' - they may have been hanging round sewage outlets, especially if they're scavengers. So they might nibble off loose skin and leave heaven knows what behind. Plus are these beauty joints going to be versed in even basic fish husbandry? Doubt it. One report claims that it's a case of go in there and net out all the dead ones every day. Even if filters etc are provided, fear this may be true in many cases. |
