I know there are lots of food to weight charts on the forum, but I have just fed monty a rat at 45g he ate it ok but it looked huge and his belly looks like its going to burst! He hasnt pooed for a month or so but last time I weighed him he was around 400g mark. So in theory it should be fine. What happens if a snake ate something to large? Im sure im worring about nothing his rat just looked huge

I read somewhere that a snake would not eat something that was too big. I'm sure if it was too big, it would regurgitate it any way, I wouldn't worry :)

10% of 400 is 40 and your rat was 45 grams, i wouldnt worry at all, i actually am happy when i can see that they are full at least i know they are satisfied lol.

and like mathewsaint said, if it was too big they would probably not swallow it all they way and spit it out
