I have just had my ball python out for five mins or so, and he is making a whistling sound. It only happened about ten times, not a constant whistle. He shed last Tuesday could this have anything to do with it?

Also, he is sitting in the cool end of the RUB - he's normally in the warm end. Temps are 32c in warm end and 24c in cool end.

Should I take him to the Vet?

he has probarbly just got a bit of shed in his nostril, some of mine whistle for a while after they have shed.

if it was an RI you would likley see bubbles/mucus coming from the mouth an they tend to sit with their head hanging down or pointing up to free up the mucus

oh well that's a relief. will it stay like that until the next shed?
he has fed the day after his shed too so he doesn't seem too bothered by it but I thought it was best to check.

Thanks for quick reply!

Yeah just keep an eye or ear on him, check his head over for retain shed specially around the nostrils (good luck with that they are head shy). If you find nothing if you are still concerned you could have a little look in the mouth just to be sure all is clear of mucus or obstructions but it takes slight man handling to get them to open their mouth. YouTube has videos on how it's done its gentle pressure on the side of the jaw causes the mouth to open slightly then use a flat blunt item to open it been careful not to damage the teeth.
