how can i put a heat mat in my viv and the best way of doing it for a wooden one

I'm sure these guys will advise you, but I have been told by several snake owners that a heat mat isn't really suitable for a heavy bodied snake like the Royal.......do I stand corrected on this???

Best of with a ceramic or ir bulb on a stat.Unless your royal is a baby and your viv his baby home for now.
