We will soon be moving Evra into the new viv stack when it is finished, We will probably be fitting a ceramic as royals are supposed to prefer an ambient air temperature. I'm wondering if any of you have any experience with ceramics and which is the best stat to use with them?

We could do with a guide to stats on here, because loads of people are confused about what they need.
Who knows the technical stuff? |

Hi, Ceramics are well worth the money, but make sure you protect the snake, they get very hot!
A wire mesh will do and make sure its high enough in the viv so you get the best from it. |

Its basically a bulb without the light, so no need for a heat mat. |

Ceramics are without doubt the way to heat a viv, they can be rated to match the size of the viv, linked to something like a habistat pulse proportional thermostat you can set it up and forget it.
I have used them for years without a problem but remember they dont provide light so you will need to provide a seperate low power light |

Happier with red heat bulbs myself, adequate heat and enough light to see by so no need to use additional lighting. |
