hi, when my royal strikes, normaly strikes the side of the mouse and then trys to eat it side ways, and its looks like its having some trouble turning it around.

is there anyway i can help it turn its food around, or by me interfering with it, will it stop eating?

btw thanks for the replies on how to measure my snake :)

It might help to heat the head more than the rest of the mouse/rat as they "see" the heat more than thier prey.

Hi Ben, 90% of the time my royal strikes and gets the side, but he always gets the right end in his mouth after a bit of shuffling around, yours will be fine.

they usually find the head end by heat and by the direction the fur lies. like Dazzetski said, heat the head more and try not to 'wet defrost' (directly in warm water) as they can't tell which way the hair is lying on a wet mouse/rat and this can confuse then too
