I guess this is for BE....
Peanut is on weaners at the moment, but i noticed when he was last fed that he took it with ease, was no struggle for him at all..not that i want him to struggle, they are only small ones. Are there different size weaners? do you think it would be to soon to move him up? Dont want to rush him, so just asking really...i know about the girth thing, but when rats are frozen they seem like they are shrunk cos when they defrost they are bigger if you know what i mean. |

Large rat weaners look massive, but they aren't that big really. We have just given Trilby one and she took it easily. If a massive corn snake can handle one, then I'm sure a royal can |

dunno about refreezing though, i had some mouse pinkies ages ago that were refrozen and when i defrosted them they turned into jelly, not sure what bigger sizes would do though. |

i thaw and refreeze but it's personal preference - i do it with my own food too! with the small and large weaners, it might be worth asking your supplier to pick out one of the biggest small weaners (at the top of their weight range) and the smallest of their large weaners, that way you kind of get 'medium' sized, if that makes sense?? |

I only refreeze if it has not been warmed up and offered...
I will have a look Saturday, they normally let me take what i want from the freezers anyway, so will have a nose...been trying to get them to order in Multimammates but not had any success yet... |

Weaners can range from about 25g to nearly 200g. |

I just fed him, but instead of going off to digest his meal he went on a hunt for more...so i am deffinately going to go look at bigger weaners Saturday...
He must have been really hungry because i hardly got the rat in the viv and he had it coiled. But tell me something, what is it with royals that sometimes they decide to eat it the hardest way possible..Peanut has a couple of times ate the head first, but sideways on...makes it harder to get the rest in..the silly boy. |

Tell me about it, Sid struck at the back of the rats neck the other day, making it impossible for him to swallow til he shifted round but he doesn't seem to realise that. Took him ages. |

It must be a royal thing, Peanut though will carry on taking in the head sideways rather than shifting and going to easy route. He left me a present this morning as well. |
