Hi guys
I'm currently using 50ltr boxes that are not RUB branded, although they provide plenty of head room but not as much floor space, I'm wondering:

Do your snakes do ok when feeding with the lack of head room? mine use the full height to help the rats down.

Also how much ventilation; how many holes do you put in the RUBs? I'm planning on changing all my boxes in a couple of weeks for RUBs.

I think they will still be ok to feed cause he will just use what ever space they have like in the wild I'm guessing that they would get some meals from rodent burrows which would have no head room lol
For fentilation I drill four holes in both ends then two on the four sides of the lid but this is for 12l rubs so don't know if it would be the same for larger ones

I drill the nobbles in the corners for vents. Never had any problems with humidity control and it looks neat. the lid is not airtight so provides extra airflow too. My Royal eats in his hide, it's only just big enough for him so they don't need room to swallow. I would still expect a minimum headroom of a foot for an adult if only to give enough room to put something in for them to climb on.

I use vivs but as for the head room when eating my spider always pulls his food back into his hide for eating so dont think they need much head room attal

You'd be surprised how well they can feed in enclosed spaces. Yesterday I fed a 6ft boa constrictor inside a cork tunnel that was about 30cm wide, was rather mad. I've also fed royals inside their hides before and they manage fine without lifting their heads to neck the rat.
