Hi guys well as tonight was feeding night and i have been working late nights i left the snakes for my misses to feed and tonight when i came in i noticed that my spider royal was a little fatter/girthier than he usualy is after a feed so i asked the misses what size of rat she had fed him so she went into the freezer and braught 1 through and said it was about this size :o well i was shoked at the size of it and evan more shoked that the snake mannaged to eat it he is around 1100grams and the rat she had fed him was around 200 grams give or take so baisicly my question is is this rat to large for him to digest or should he be alright ?? It was my own fault in a way as i keep lots of rats in the freezer and i told her that he got a rat that was a little bit bigger than the other snakes do :/ she said he did take a little while with it but he did get it down :/ so am i worying about nothing baisicly ?

Yes a little on the big, but I don't think it's an exact science I have fed my snakes larger food items than should have now and again with no ill side effects.
Would not worry to much. You will probably see the bulge gone in a day.

The size guide is also a nutritional requirement guide rather than just a what they can fit in them. Give a few extra days of digestion time but I'd be very surprised that if he managed to swallow it tht he then wouldn't be able to digest it. I've fed Duke on bigger than the guideline, he was totally fine.

I wouldn't worry :) More of a problem when people feed to large all the time.or feed way to small food items all the time.

If he's swallowed it and hasn't regurgitated then he will be fine. Remember there's no one helping them with food sizes in the wild.

If he's eaten it then no reason why he should struggle. Unless brought back up.

Slap the misses and lay it on a bit more than normal saying she could damage the snake etc n make her buy you another for the mess up ;-)

As others have said. Just give him little more time to digest. He'll soon release his rear end to get rid of it.
