Thought I'd post some piccies of the rest of my reptiles.

This is 'Gecko Lady' my first ever reptile! She's (quite obviously) a leopard gecko and is about 5 or 6 years old now. Had her since she was a hatchling.

This 'Pedro' my Phelsuma m. grandis. He's probably 4 or 5 now... again I've had him from a hatchling.

This is 'Mr. Chondrodactlyus' my Chondrodactylus a. angulifer, who I've had for about 3 years. He was an adult when I bought him. His previous owner had a breeding pair and as a spare male he was no longer needed. He's got such a ferocious feeding response! He doesn't just strike and munch at his food, he shakes it around and smacks it against stuff! Hehe... gotta love a cute little savage.

This is 'Iggie' my only herbivore! He's a Dipsosaurus dorsalis, or desert iguana. He's a cheeky little guy who I've had about 3 years. He was an adult when I got him... have a feeling he's probably WC unfortunately.

Thanks!
I just realised that I probably should have put this under the 'Other Reptile Photos' section and not this one. Sorry!

Thanks all! I wish I had space for more, but then that's what I said before I got my new Royal! The trouble is there's always room for *just one more*...

Haha it's funny how locusts always seem to end up on the curtains! I think they head towards the light!
Desert iguana (Dipsosaurus dorsalis), they are 100% herbivorous and are diurnal so you'll see them out and about. They're definitely not hard to keep once you've got the basics right. They're about 15 or 16 inches long, but they are slim bodied and most of their length is tail. Quite an active little lizard, so for a single iggie you'll want a large 3 or 4 foot viv with lots of sand for digging and rocks/branches for climbing. They come from the hot hot deserts (Mojave, Arizona, Nevada) so they like a nice hot viv with a basking spot of 46C (110F). I've seen mine laying on top of his UV tube, just soaking up the surface heat and UV rays through his belly! General heat gradient needs to be 37C (100F) on warm side down to 26C (80ish) on the cool side. Temperature drop at night to the low-mid 20's C. Obviously given their natural habitat they have a high UV requirement... I use a 10% tube and it's on for 12 hours a day along with his heat bulb.

The diet needs to be largely made up of leafy greens such as spring greens, chard, dandelions (free food... hurray!), lambs lettuce, parsley. Next on the list to be fed in roughly equal amounts are shredded/finely chopped green veggies and shredded orange veggies.

Green veggies: sugar snaps, peas (frozen are fine), mange tout, runner beans, string beans/French beans, asparagus.

Orange veggies: Shredded squash. Any kind of orange hard-fleshed squash works fine... including butternut, acorn, onion squash, pumpkin etc. I know carrots are orange too, but they aren't as good as squash. Though obviously to ring the changes it's totally fine for them to eat carrot.

Other important aspects of an iggie meal are...

Shredded parsnip, turnip or swede. Small amounts of soft fruit such as strawberries, blueberries, plum, fresh fig (high in calcium so always a good one), apricot/peach/nectarine. As treats or to give them a change they also like chopped bell peppers (any colour), melon (good water content, but no real nutrition), grapes (same as melon). Then there's dandelion flowers, which they LOVE! Probably largely because in the wild they feed on the flowers of the creosote bush, which are the same yellow colour.
Their food needs to be supplemented with calcium and vitamins. Calcium I sprinkle on every day (I use ground up cuttle bone as it's cheaper than buying calcium in a tub) and vitamin powder I sprinkle on every few days. The vitamin powder I use is called 'Repton'. It's got many more vitamins in it than Nutrobal and also has amino acid supplements, so you can be sure your iggie is getting enough protein. Because obviously a vegetable diet doesn't contain too much protein. Lots of people feed alfalfa greens (not the sprouts) for protein, but I just can't find anywhere that sells it, not even online. So at least with Repton they are getting their protein supplement.

Oops... that turned into rather a lengthy caresheet rather than a forum response! Haha oh well, at least I don't think anything was left out!
