Darn, wish i had thought of that. I am booked for a quiet time thinking it would be less stressful

Good luck Matty, im sure you will pass first time. How many lessons do you rekon you will fit in for the next 4 weeks?

I dont want to give a date for mine, but it is not far away now, the final countdown has begun .

well i have to be fair 4 wheels do have there use but for me 2 wheels are the fun factor, and im not saying i drive fast or stupidly i own 4 cruisers and i let the miles just cruise on by.

but when u get on your bike put rucksack on, strap your tent on the luggage rack and head of with no final destination in mind just keep on goin now that is a great feelin.

ive found some of the nicest villages, greatest beers, lovely pubs and some rather strange people, especially the bloke under a bridge, can of special brew in one hand dirty mag on his lap,and i dont have to tell you what his other hand was doin but it looked like he was polishing something lol, needless to say i dint hang about.

i could never go back to these places cause alot of the time i dont know where ive beenn as i said just keep goin

i just love it, always have and hopefully always will

There is a flaw in your plan - more traffic means more clutch control. I prefered the open road on my test, as it was easier without all the gear changes and slow moving and stuff, especially when you are nervous.

but I suppose since driving in Bristol is just one big traffic jam anyway you might as well get used to it

I was the same a Matty, long time bike rider and then took my car test, I took 3 days of lessons 4 hours a day and then took my test on the 4th day, wish I still had my bike on fair weather days but oh the winters are so much warmer and drier...

Good luck...you'l be fine, especially if you've already got road experience. I did it the other way round - car then bike - passed 2nd attempt with car but 1st time with bike

well done that man, just as I fancy going from 4 wheels to 2...........

thing is, I really want an old Lambretta, and I can't decide if I'll look too much like a plonker driving one.
