hi i noticed a bubble from my little boys nose and a slight dribble on friday so took him to the vets on sat and he has an r.i. the vet put him on baytril oraly for 3 weeks. but i forgot to ask should i still try him with his rat as i have to give him his meds everyday and realy dont wanna stress him out more with a regurge

Hi, I'm really sorry to hear that and hope he recovers asap.

Sorry I can't advise (although I have an idea it depends on the individual snake) and I'd be interested to know myself whether feeding in this situation is a good idea.

But just wanted to wish the little guy a speedy recovery.

Hi, if he's not underweight I'd just leave him for the 3 weeks, won't do him any harm unless he was in a serious weight condition prior to the RI.

thanks b.e the vet said he is nice and chunky so think i will just leave it then.
i just hope he is still a realy good eater after not eating for 3 weeks but aslong as he gets better i will be happy

Don't worry, 3 weeks is nothing at all, it will give him a chance to get over it and then hopefully he'll be nice and hungry for you, ready to start eating again.

he will def be hungry after 3 weeks, it would be like me not eating for a day (3 meals a day) i would scoff down anything that got in my way the day after lol

lol, glad that hes all better now, so did he go 3 weeks without food, no wonder he was looking for more food within an hour lol
so what did you have to do to get rid of the r.i, or what did the vet purscribe???

thanks danny yeah 3 weeks without a feed i didnt even have chance to get the rat in his viv before he nailed it lol
he was on baytrill every day for 3 weeks and a viv clean every 3-4 days just to be on the safe side.
