Just wondering what you pay really I'm lucky as we have a whole sale outlet about
3 miles away that's sells to the public

So I get my rats the same price as what the shop near me gets them from and they whack an extra 110% on top

So yesterday I got
24 30g-60g small rats weaners 68p
And
4 large rat weaners 60g-100g 80p

And they cost me £16.12

haha, would be alot cheaper for you kelf, i always buy 20 weeks worth of food, and it cost me around 50 quid each time
i just found a cheaper supplier though that is local to me, so i buy from him
with the buying, i look at the snake and buy what i think the snake will be on now and what it will be on in 20 weeks, so when i buy say rat weaners, i would buy 10 small and 10 large, so i now if the snake grows alot then i have some spare

does it actually work out cheaper to breed your own, as to me it doesnt as you have to provide housing, bedding, food etc, and then depending on how you kill, if you use gas you have to buy all that, or you might just give them a smack over the head, whereas it costs me 7 quid for a bag of 20 rat pups

To me if I put them to sleep in 4-6 weeks there worth £28 and 40 will cover about a 2 months?

I buy 25kg sawdust for £6.86 lasts about 2-3 months
20kg of rabbit food for £9.50 lasts about 6-8 weeks
All the cages I got off of car boots between £2-6
2 community cages / 4 females bringing up the babes cages

I can't decide if it's worth it or not I think it is as long as you can get the stuff on the cheap or buy in bulk

Oh and I gas then in my home made gas chamber with halfords co2 welding bottles

i used to use tsm reptiles online as they were the cheapest online, but then i found someone that loves local to me that sells frozen rats and mice, so was cheaper as it saved on postage
the max i would keep frozen food in a freezer is 6 months, as after that it tends to loose some nutrients

I paid £1.80 for 4 meduim mice. i did look at bulk buying but when i've only got the one snake that will most likely grown out of that size after a month or 2 it doesn't seem worth it.

I don't even know what I pay, isn't that bad! I just ask for what I need for the month, he says numbers, I point my card at a machine. I love going down there though, get a bit of conversation, a good look at all the reptiles he has, I usually buy substrate and fake foliage too so my bank statements are not giving me a clue either lol.

I have no idea at all what I pay either. I use one of three different pet shops and I just order and pay. I would love to find a really tiny freezer to keep below the viv for just snake food, smallest is a table top freezer, circa 40l
