Is it unusual for a male to hit 1.8kg? I've noticed recently a lot of people being amazed at a male hitting 1.3-1.5kg... Margwar's just under 1.8kg, is this that unusual? |

It's not unusual at all. Male royals average between 1.5 to 2.0kg. Females can go upwards to 3kg.
My male spider is at 1.4kg right now and he's only a little over 3 years old. |

I didn't think it was too odd, it just seemed really odd that people seemed excited or shocked over the weights of some males.

That's one big momma! It would be really cool to see one of those. They probably lay 15 eggs at a time! |

WHOA BABY!
That's one big royal! I want it! Lol! Okay, I'm not ever going to own giants - like a retic or a burmese - but I would love to have that size royal. He said the girl is about 10 years old? Hmmm... something to look forward to! :D |

My Duke is a male (not confirmed by probing bit his bits imprint on the shed) it about to tip the scales at a kilo and he is only just 1 year old. I wonder where he will be in a few year. |

Our Margwar is 11 years old, he's been heavier, but we've cut back his feeding a little, well introduced him to rats and cut them down to every 14 days, as we found he was getting a bit too heavy with them every 7 days. |
