If still nothing, leave it in overnight, then put it back away for 5 days before trying again, maybe with a Rat Pup.

but still no feed, didnt even flick its tounge at it, after 30 secs of just sitting there as i dangled it on some cotton as it doesnt seem to like the tweezers, it just headed strait up for my hand, all the pushing back in and it didnt have none of it.
its been wraped round my wrist for the last 15mins and it dont want to go anywhere. it seems really happy just sat here.
it also seems to have some loose scales on its chin like its been trying to get out or rubbing on the air holes.
i even tried out the rub on my bed, with the mouse on a board the other end, i just got it nice and warm. put snakey towards it and i get no reaction.
the worrying part is on the 13th june it was 51.2grams. now its 47.7grams. so has lost some weight in a little over a week.

i know what you all mean about not being able to read people through text. so apoligies if iv seemed funny with anyone, im just trying to get things across.

thanks for all your time

if you want me to take him and try to get him going for you i will... if i do this, it might take a while and wont be a quick fix, but i cant get to him till late next week as i have other things going on...

or you can try the rats tail approach..let me know which way you want to go..

you still have another week yet..till i could help...

I had one a couple of days ago that's a bit of a pain, I had to heat up and try several times, on the 5th time she took it (I'm not kidding).

Peanut does that sometimes, he takes so long to just meander across to his dinner and i have had to warm it up a few times, but...i know he will take it..

I agree with what BE says about trying again...

have you split either the head or the belly..? head is probably less messy

just put a small split in its head down towards the nose...

BE if he refuses the feed later, could it be worth just trying to tease the food into his mouth so maybe he gets a taste of it? especially if the split head juices hit his mouth..

I'd leave it this time personally, give it another 5 days, but it may work.

is it not worth a try if he refuses...?

it does not have to be rough or anything just gently push the mouse into his mouth and see what he does..if there is blood on the mouses nose then he might geta taste...but then again he might not..

i would NEVER suggest anything more...it would stress the snake..

but i would suggest assist first feed then live then whatever comes next..lol..

i did try putting its nose on it, and wiggleing towards and away, but not even a flick of the tounge to taste it. should it just be a flesh wound or do i really have to cut through the skull aswell.
all i can get is the occasional mouse, normally brown aswell, but he doesnt have any till he breeds again.
im near heathrow but i work in surbiton/chessington area.
its all covered again so il try around 10 tonight.
is the weight loss a problom or normal?

thanks again

A few grams isn't an issue, see if it changes in 5 days.

As Anne says, was there any tongue flicking at all?

Has he got a good tongue?

i could get upset at that comment, but i wont..and i am not sure why you said it..

its more about making your royal feel secure to get it eating...

you dont need to compare him to anything...

have a bit of confidence in yourself..

these things just take time and remember the old saying Rome was not built in a day
