Thanks spor and GP. I've just come from the vets. I wish i'd have put him to sleep last week as his mouth has no infection at the moment but he started to produce a lot of saliva, stringy fluid which i was told is the beginning of it. He also lost over 100 grams in 13 days! Thats 10% of his weight! She said thats because his nervous system is going and not stimulating his muscles. And you could clearly see and feel it was his muscles as there a lot of loose skin and he's very boney. That made my mind up for sure. Although its a lot of money i have chosen to put him to sleep and ill get the post mortem report within the next week. Thanks for all your support and opinions guys. And a big thanks to those who helped settle him in to his, short but final, home- in particular to piers and lee! Ill keep you posted on the final diagnosis when it is available to me. Ben x |

It's a terrible decision isn't it, even when you know it's absolutely the right and kindest thing to do. Feel for you. xxx |

i'm sure there's no rush to sort it hun some people deal with it by cleaning, tidying and removing all presence of the person or pet who has gone, others deal with stuff in their own time, there's no right or wrong way hun *hugs* |

Hi.
I phoned the vets today. No news from the receptionist but because Polly works between the vets' different branches she will call me tomorrow with the post mortem results.
Will message when Polly has rang. |

I've only just seen the last few pages of this and I'm ever so sorry to hear about what's happened. It's always desperately tough to lose an animal. They are like family to us. Best wishes to you as you come to terms with things. |
