ive just went to handle kahn only to find he was dead! my baby python ive only had for a week stone cold!
some of u may remember i posted i he was acting strange and upon ringing vets got an appointment which was cancelled and resceduled to tomorrow...fat lot of use that is cos hes dead
this is my problem ive had him little over a week and ive done everything i was meant to do for him im new to royals but have corns what the hell has gone wrong im really upset like cant stop crying
i did everything by the book and he still died  |

| Aww thats awful, I'm so sorry to hear that. I would contact the shop and speak to them about this, with you only having him a week it would be quite likely he was sick before you took him on. There is no written rule on an animal dying after purchase but as word of mouth can be devastating to a business they should do what they can to help you. |

| In fact scrap that, (I really shoudl have known this) the sales of goods act covers pets and the pet trade too. Unfortunately a sick animal is classed as not fit for purpose and faulty (crudely worded in the circumstances) but the pet didn't do what it was supposed to do, live and was already sick/faulty when you bought it. |

| Sorry to hear it mate, deffinately go back to the shop, if you were able to pick up on his illness within a week a shop owner who is meant to be a professional should have know he was ill before hand. |

I'm so sorry. I know how you must be feeling... when Pandora died I was so shocked by it I couldn't even look in the viv for hours. I've had lots of pets die, but that freaked me out.
I agree that a PM might be a good idea. You'll fine out what caused this and you can maybe use it against the petshop. I'd suspect there is something going on here and it needs bringing to light.

Also - (and I realise that this is a painful thing to have to do at the moment.)
Write down every detail of what you have observed since bringing Kahn home. This may help the vet if a PM is done, and it may clarify any claim you have against the shop.
You had Kahn for a week before he died and on the 3rd you posted here about already hearing squeaky noises from him. As I said, I have no experience of an RI but could this be evidence that the illness was already established? More experienced people on here will know if this is possible. By the 7th Kahn was showing other symptoms.
It's a good thing you posted on here because that means there is a record of Kahn's illness - something else to point out to the shop as well as the vet's findings?

i would def get in touch with the shop. most shops, or at least the ones i have delt with, guarantee their animals for a period of time. but they may want the snake, never been in your situation so couldn't say if they would |

| i rang the store and they said they only give a 24hour returns period no matter the situation. i said that i was going to go for a pm and he said it wouldnt matter he would only give us a discount of another snake (yeah rite like id go back)so we didnt pm it because we feel its going to cost us alot more money for him to still say "i dont care" so we are already £100 down from the snake i will just have to live and learn and never buy from rep shops i dont no :( i feel ever since getting into snakes ie had nothing but bother from stores just wanting the sale :( |

sounds like a bad store to me
the rep shops i have bought mine from gave 7 days and if they didn't eat to let them know and they would extend it
it still might be worth getting a pm. that way you will know for sure. i know it wont be much help but if the shop is selling un fit animals then it could be reported to the proper people and hopefully stop them treating their animals badly |
