you want to do some research on rat prices versus mice for similar sized meals, if they tally up it'll be a point in our favour if not we'll compare the nutritional value austin is looking into a see if the prices go along with the nutrion increase, could be risky if we end up proving a point for the mice that rats are cheaper and not worth the extra money for a small nutritional gain but if it comes out like I expect it will it'll pretty muich seal our victory :) |

Whoa. The basis of the debate seems to have changed.
I thought it was plain Rat versus Mouse for the life of a ROYAL python. Not Rat versus Mouse for the FIRST YEAR of ANY SNAKE.
That's something you can't really debate on because, first of all, not all snakes have the same dietary requirements and prey benefits change within the lifetime of a snake.
And, lastly, live verus f/t has no relevance to rat versus mouse.
So, what am I missing? |

Nothing Ana, live feeding is not in depth..likely just the relevent risk between offering a live mouse or rat. I shall mainly cover health issues, what I posted was just the introduction, not my debate :)

Okay, whoever offer up the first constructive argument must include the definitions as follows:
RATS - a member of the super family muroida, including any rodent in genus Rattus, species Rattus and including the species Mastomys Natalensis in the genus Praomys (Multimammates).
@JanieW - if multimammates are not going to pass definition here as a rat - and would be then defined as a mouse, I will have to jump over to the mouse side. LOL!
Royal - must be defined as genus Python, species Regius.
Better - must be defined to include health of the python and convenience of the human companion as well as the health/well-being of the rat/mouse and its population.
